Solid Wood Commodity Demand Shows Improvement
Weekly Price Update: Benchmark Softwood Lumber Price Rises

Demand for solid wood commodities in North America has seen an uptick this week. According to Madisons Lumber Reporter, the price of benchmark softwood lumber item Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 24 2Btr KD RL rose to US$348 mfbm in the week ending July 26, 2024.
This marks an 8% or $2 increase from the previous month, when the price was US$358 mfbm. The rise in demand is attributed to several factors, including increased construction activity and a rebound in the furniture industry.
