Roberto De Zerbi Departs Brighton and Hove Albion
Former Italian Coach Leaves After One Season
De Zerbi led the team to 9th place in the Premier League during his tenure.
Brighton and Hove Albion have announced that head coach Roberto De Zerbi will leave the club at the end of the season. The Italian coach joined the Seagulls in September 2022, replacing Graham Potter who had departed for Chelsea.
During his time at the Amex Stadium, De Zerbi guided Brighton to a ninth-place finish in the Premier League, their highest-ever league standing. He also led the team to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, where they lost to Manchester United on penalties.
De Zerbi's departure is reportedly due to a difference of opinion with the club's hierarchy over the direction of the team. He is expected to return to Italy to take over as coach of Serie A side Sassuolo.
