Tributes pour in for former England international

Campbell made over 200 appearances for Arsenal and won the Premier League title in 1998

Former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell has died aged 54, the Premier League clubs announced on Saturday.

Campbell, who was known as "Super Kev" by Arsenal fans, made over 200 appearances for the Gunners and won the Premier League title in 1998.

He also played for Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City, before retiring in 2006.

After his playing career, Campbell worked as a pundit for Sky Sports and talkSPORT.

In a statement, Arsenal said: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of former striker Kevin Campbell, who has died at the age of 54 after a short illness."

"Kevin was a popular figure at Arsenal, making over 200 appearances and scoring 59 goals for the club," the statement continued.

"He was a key member of the team that won the Premier League title in 1998, and also played in the FA Cup final in 2001."

"We extend our deepest condolences to Kevin's family and friends at this difficult time."

Everton also paid tribute to Campbell, saying: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Everton striker Kevin Campbell."

"Kevin played 84 times for the Blues, scoring 28 goals, and was part of the team that won the FA Cup in 1995," the statement continued.

"We extend our sincere condolences to Kevin's family and friends at this sad time."
